Grants

The Peachtree Ridge Foundation is a non-profit organization established to fund facility improvements and educational programs for the students of the Peachtree Ridge Cluster of Schools.  The foundation is unique to Gwinnett County Public Schools in that it encompasses the areas of academics, arts, and athletics.

Grants are solicited from PRHS Department Heads, Booster Club Officers, Foundation Members, and Cluster School Principals twice a year.  The grant requests go through a formal review process and then approved requests are awarded.  To facilitate the request for grants, listed below are grant procedures, a submission checklist, and a grant application.

Grant Submission Procedures

  • All grant (gift) requests will be reviewed two times a year by the Grants Committee.

  • The Fall 2010 submission deadline is October 14.
The Spring 2011 submission deadline is March 24

  • All grant requests must be pre-approved by the appropriate department head.  (Kevin Tashlein - PRHS Academics, Bill Holleman - PRHS Athletics, Dean Feldman - PRHS Arts, Cluster Schools - require Principal's approval)

  • For PRHS grant requests only, Kevin Tashlein must sign all grant requests in addition to the department head.

  • The fiscal year of the Peachtree Ridge Foundation shall commence July 1 and end June 30 to coincide with the Gwinnett County Public School year.

  • All grants issued during the fiscal year must be spent in the same fiscal year.  Grant money cannot be accumulated from one year to the next.  If grant money is not spent in the fiscal year it was given, the grant money must be returned to the Foundation.

  • The Executive Director of the Foundation will maintain a gift fund which can be granted at his/her discretion.  The gift shall benefit academic or leadership groups only.  Such grants will not exceed $1,000.  The gift must be spent within the fiscal year it was issued.

  • Entry fees, dues, scholarships, gifts, travel, conferences, retreats, food and entertainment, salaries for teacher training, and student tutoring do not fall within the guidelines set for grants from the Foundation.

  • Incomplete applications and/or missed deadlines constitute denial of grant request.

  • All grants requested that involve the use of the PRHS logo or crest or the construction of any building, addition to, or renovation of, must be approved by the principal of PRHS.
